United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR)

Welcome, delegates, to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) committee. In this committee, delegates will confront the growing challenge of delivering humanitarian aid to refugees and displaced populations amid government restrictions, aid blockades, ongoing conflict, and the presence of armed groups. Your task is to develop solutions that ensure humanitarian assistance reaches those in need while balancing state sovereignty, security concerns, and the principles of international humanitarian law.
About the Chairs
Brielle Brooms, 11th Grade
Hello delegates, My name is Brielle, and I am a junior at Masters. I'm thrilled to be one of your chairs for MASMUNC this year. I joined Masters' high school MUN team in the beginning of my sophomore year, though I had briefly participated in MUN in middle school; I wanted to be able to deepen my understanding of it. I enjoy dedicating my free time to a variety of creative hobbies. I love to cook and experiment with different dishes around the world, work on detailed embroidery, read, and listen to music. I am so excited to meet all of you and watch you collaborate with each other to solve complex global issues. I hope that MASMUNC will be an exciting and memorable experience for all!

Adeola Gideon, 10th Grade
Hi Delegates, and welcome to MASMUNC! My name is Adeola Gideon and I’m so excited to be one of your co-chairs for UNCHR! I'm a sophomore and I've been in MUN since my freshman year and this is my second time chairing. Outside of MUN I like writing, drawing, painting and really just anything in the arts. MASMUNC is something that I'm really excited for and I'm so excited to see you all in December!
