three-old-papers-on-table.jpg

On Friday the 13th of October, 1972, 45 passengers of the Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, including 19 members of the Old Christians Club rugby union team, went into a panic as the aircraft they inhabited slammed to the ground, leaving 12 immediately dead and the rest stranded in the Andes mountains. Now, you must figure out how to survive the harsh mountainous conditions and contact civilization in order to escape. Due to the snow, the remains of the aircraft were not visible to overhead search and rescue teams, making the survival mission much more difficult.

About the Chairs

Jack Bilman, 12th Grade

Hi, my name is Jack Bilman, and I am so excited to be one of your chairs in this committee. I started Model UN in sophomore year and since then I have been to many conferences, specifically enjoying those where I can participate in a crisis committee. I have found a love for politics and international relations through not only Model UN but also writing for the school newspaper. I am so excited to be chairing this committee and I am looking forward to seeing how you all will try to tackle the numerous challenges and trials you will all face. I am so excited to meet you all and best of luck in preparing for committee.

Kenneth Kweku, 12th grade

Hi! My name is Kenneth, and I am excited to be one of your chairs this committee. I have been doing MUN for five years and have learned a lot during that time, and I've found fun in participating in and contributing to various committees in the past. Outside of MUN, I enjoy running, gaming, math, and doing anything athletics-related. I hope that our committee will be one to remember, as I find the idea of a Survival Island committee to allow for a lot of creativity from both us as the committee leaders and you as delegates! I hope you are all looking forward to some fun times, so good luck and see you in committee!

Collin Lally, 12th Grade

Hello Delegates! My name is Collin, I am a high school senior at Masters, and I am excited to be chairing the survivor Crisis committee for this year's MASMUNC. Although it is my first time being a chair for a MUN committee, I am confident that no matter what, our committee this year will be successful. Outside of Model UN, I am a drummer, an artist, and I compete as a track and field athlete. I wish you the best of luck on your preparation, and I cannot wait to see what you delegates can accomplish for your roles in this committee!
