Greetings Residents! You all have lived on this island for some time, each arriving for your own reasons, and over the years, the island has grown tremendously under the influence of Nook Inc, transforming it into a major economic hub. However, beneath this prosperity, years of secret, unchecked development, aggressive house expansion, and intensive resource extraction have pushed the island into crisis. A housing bubble now threatens collapse, natural resources are running low, and political power has become increasingly concentrated within corporate structures. You all remain on the brink of a cataclysm, and you all must act immediately to prevent it. Residents must work to stabilize the housing market, prevent economic collapse, restore the island’s environment, and address systematic corruption in island governance. Yet, with competing interests, limited resources, and Tom Nook’s development agenda, the future of your island remains uncertain and in your hands.
About the Chairs
Arlo Goldberg, 12th Grade
Hello, my name is Arlo, and I'm so excited to be co-chairing Animal Crossing this MASMUNC! I only started Model UN at the beginning of 10th grade, but I have loved it ever since! Outside of MUN, I play and teach the violin, play video games, and read. This is my first year being a chair for a committee, and I'm so excited to share what my friend's and I have been working on, and I hope you guys enjoy it too!
Tor Barreno, 12th Grade
Hi! My name is Tor Barreno and I’m so excited to be back-rooming for MASMUNC V! Outside of the Model UN team, I love playing volleyball and basketball, and I’m super into debate. I really enjoy the challenge of thinking on my feet and defending ideas. I’ve been part of the Model UN team for a while now, and it’s been such a fun and rewarding experience. I also worked for MASMUNC IV and back-roomed Space Traitors. I can't wait to see how Animal Crossing turns out!
Stella Ervi, 12th Grade
Hello! My name is Stella, and I’m so excited to be chairing the Space Traders Committee at MASMUNC! I’ve loved Model UN since my freshman year, and it’s become one of my favorite clubs. As your front room chair, I’m committed to making this committee engaging and fun. Outside of MUN, I love making/composing music, realism painting, and writing. At school, I’m co-chair of the Economics Club, soprano captain and pitch in choir, and I play defense in field hockey. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you, and let’s make it the best MASMUNC yet!
