World Trade Organization
Trade War

(WTO)

Welcome, delegates, to the World Trade Organization! This General Assembly committee is centered on the ongoing trade and tariff war and its impact globally through both supply chains and its effect on developing countries. As a result of the recent escalations in the early months of 2025, the pending crisis looms over universal trade affairs. In order to maintain a stable global economy and prevent the deterioration of developing countries’ progressing economies, the WTO must convene to formulate a solution which will address this conflict and restore stability worldwide.

About the Chairs

Ella Horowitz, 12th Grade

Hi, I am Ella. I am a Senior who has been a participant in the Masters Model UN Team for four years. Model UN has been a source of joy, community, and growth for me. It has brought me closer to my teammates and allowed me to learn more about international politics. Outside of MUN, I am an active participant in the political landscape and enjoy learning about history. Beyond that, I love spending time with my dog and making tea. Model UN has taught and helped me become a better public speaker and researcher. Model UN has been a genuine passion of mine for the past three years, and I hope it will be one for you, too. I am so excited to be your chair and see you on the committee!

Emily Kasoff, 11th Grade

Hi everyone! My name is Emily, and I’m so excited to be one of your chairs for the WTO committee on Trade Wars at MASMUNC this year! I joined Model UN at the start of my freshman year and have loved being part of such an amazing and thoughtful community. Outside of MUN, I love singing, traveling, and exploring new places with friends. I’m especially looking forward to the topic of this committee due to the current prevalence of trade wars and their global impact–even beyond just economics. It is a complex issue with roots that extend their reach to all of us, and I’m excited to hear your ideas and see how you tackle it in committee!
